Hector Mathabe — known on stage as Hector Motivator — is a motivational speaker, MC and programme director specialising in motivational talks, team building, strategic planning facilitation and customer service consulting.
Throughout his career, his main objective has been to motivate, equip and train people to discover and live by their purpose. His customised motivation and teambuilding interventions are boldly imaginative and insightful — a pleasant blend of motivation, education and entertainment.

Madidi roots
First audience at home
Born in the North Western village of Madidi to a dressmaker mother and upholsterer father. Drawn to debate and public speaking as a child, he practised with his parents and three siblings as his first audience.
Age 14
Words that move a school
At Seamoge Middle School he convinced fellow students to unite in an effective strike against corporal punishment — recognising early the power of words to influence and change.
1993 · Radio TUT
On-campus radio, campus MC
While studying for a Public Administration diploma at Tshwane University of Technology (then Technikon Northern Transvaal), he started the first on-campus black radio station — Radio TUT — and became the go-to MC for campus occasions.
1998 · Mentorship
I Can Foundation
Under the mentorship of renowned Dr David Molapo, Hector entered professional speaking when he left radio to work for the I Can Foundation — the start of a lifelong calling to motivate.
1999–2009
Building a practice
Within months he branched out on his own as Marang Consulting, then under his own banner from 2009 — offering motivation, teambuilding, programme directing and strategic planning.
